You Must Build A Boat is a must-play game that leaves other match-3 games like Candy Crush and Bejeweled in the dust. Conor: This game is the antithesis to Candy Crush. I really like how it tells you when you make a match and I enjoy just how fast paced it. You Must Build A Boat By: EightyEight Games LTD (Luca Redwood) This is a guide with help, tips and tricks for You Must Build a Boat by EightyEight Games LTD (Luca Redwood). • Attack Tiles

Do not use an attack tile when you are between enemies. If you match an attack tile while moving between enemies or treasure chests it will be wasted. You will only actually attack enemies when standing next to them, or within ranged or spells radius.
If you match key tiles them before you are next to a treasure chest, the match will not result in the chest being unlocked.
If a trap is visible anywhere , making a match with a trap tile will disarm it from any distance.
Use the brief amount time between enemies and treasure chests to match shield, power, and thought tiles. Every time you reach a new segment of a dungeon and its Roman numeral increments, you will have a short break before the level increase message appears and randomly assigns a new dungeon modifier. During this time, continue matching and clearing the board of hield, thought, and power tiles to create space for other tiles.
Item tiles are obtained by matching crates. This includes spells, bows, bombs, and food. Spells and bows are used to damage or slow enemies from a distance. Bombs break all crate tiles on the level. Food boosts your adventurer's energy to allow him to move farther away from falling off the screen. Do not save more than one or two items at a time to avoid cluttering the level. Always use food immediately, unless you at the far right side.
Staves are red wand tiles that deal magic damage to enemies. Staff power is upgraded at Silver's Staffery. Enemies that are vulnerable to magic are hurt more when you match red staff tiles. Enemies resistant to magic are hurt less.
Spells are usable items occasionally found in crate tiles. Their power can be upgraded at Leem's Arcanery. These items do not do magic damage, but instead do damage that is related to their element.
  • Black Dragon

Play 'Gallery', the final map, and tap his picture on the action screen as it passes.
  • Catapult

Get 70 entries in Woodward's Library list.
  • Easy 'Ironed out the kinks' Achievement

You must complete the game twice times to reach ace level three. When you complete the game, restart to gain an ace level. Depending on your ace level, Agneti (the garden girl) will reward you with some gifts: if you are ace level three, she will cover your boat in iron.
  • Easy 'Skill Beats Gear' Achievement

'Jail' is the third area you will travel to. Do not purchase anything from the blacksmith (bottom of the boat), the mage (middle of the boat) or the monster recruiter (top of the boat) during the first two areas. To travel to a new area, you have to complete all challenges for your current area. Then, select the monsters that you use to start a run, then select the arrow at the top of the menu. Note: Some of the challenges can be difficult without new gear.
  • Faster matches

When you make a match, it takes a moment for the tiles to actually break. The tiles will light up and shake, then shatter to allow the tiles above them to drop. You can interact with other tiles while your current match is breaking, between the lighting up and the shattering. This allows you to play faster and save time. You can also 'catch' dropping tiles for use in your next match.
  • Priory bonus

Selecting 'Run again' option will result in you retaining the current Priory bonus. Eventually Davies' Priory will be added to your boat. This is a temple where you can make an offerings of gold, power, or thought and receive a random blessing or curse in return for your next run, as a dungeon modifier and quality boost. This modifier only lasts for one run, unless you select 'Run again' after dying. The Priory bonus will remain until you choose to end the run and return to the boat. Try to maintain good modifiers obtained from the Priory. Completing a quest will replace the 'Run again' option with 'Collect reward'.
The Priory's modifiers are random but the result is affected by what you give.
  • Upgrade Adventurer

Upgrade your adventurer frequently. For example, make attack and magic tiles stronger, increase defense and shield capacity, improve spell items' abilities, and increase food recovery. As soon as you can afford an upgrade, purchase it. As one class of upgrade becomes too expensive, focus on other areas. However, the most expensive upgrade is not always the best. Check the bonuses an upgrade will convey by checking the top of the screen for the green plus sign.

You Must Build a Boat (YMBAB) is an endless puzzle game by EightyEight Games, that can be purchased regardless whether you’re an Android or iOS device user. It’s the sequel to the previous title 10000000, and as the game’s title suggest, you indeed must build a boat. You can also travel in that boat, sailing through all corners, including the “bottom of Hell.” And what’s a boat without a crew? You can also recruit people to live on your boat and help you operate it, cast spells, capture and turn monsters, and enter completely randomized dungeons. Why completely randomized? That’s where the game’s Match 3 puzzle dynamics come in, but since this is more than your average Match 3 title, we’ve compiled a list tips as part of our You Must Build A Boat strategy guide. Know Your Monsters And DungeonsEarly in the game, you’ll benefit from the invaluable assistance of crew member Woodward, who’s the resident expert on all facets of You Must Build a Boat.

Listen to him when he tells you (through his book) about the different monsters, their strengths, and their weaknesses. The book will also tell you about dungeons or quests with specific modifiers, so do check it out if you’re in doubt about anything. It will tell you what those modifiers mean, and help you tweak your battle plan accordingly. Don’t Match Attack Tiles When Moving Between Enemies Or TreasureYou’ll only end up wasting your attack tiles if you match them just as you’re moving between two enemies or two treasure chests. The only time you can attack enemies is if they’re adjacent to you, or if you’ve got a bow or a magic spell and are within the prescribed distance. When it comes to treasure chests, any key match you make in between them won’t count towards unlocking them.

Disarm TrapsWhen you see a trap on your display and match tiles from any distance, that will disarm the trap regardless of how far you are from it. Use Any Time Between Enemies And Treasure To Match Other TilesYou’ll get a brief respite between enemies and treasure chests, and again when you make it to a new part of a dungeon, or when its Roman numeral indicator levels up. Take advantage of this quick break by matching power, shield, and thought tiles so you’ll have enough space for equipment and keys. Match Crates To Acquire New ItemsWhen you match crates, you’ll get yourself item tiles, and that’ll allow you to acquire new bows or bombs, new food items, and new spells as well. Bombs can be used to break all crates, food gives your character more energy, while bows and spells can be used as ranged weapons.

Use that food immediately, and make sure you don’t overshoot and unlock too many items, as they can take up quite a lot of board space in YMBAB.
