I don't have a link, but there's a mod that doubles the amount of RAM the game is allowed to use. Hopefully someone else posts it. It helped me a little, cutting the crashing down.

Also, going to your steam library, if that's where you got HoI3, right clicking HoI3, going to properties, going to local files, and then verifying integrity of game cache before every time you load it will probably give you a lot longer before it crashes. It helped a lot for me. It went from crashing every 5 minutes to lasting hours.
